Come and join ILEA Toronto for breakfast and an informative workshop to learn what you’ve been missing!
How to get what you’re due instead of giving it away
Everyone in our industry talks about the creative aspects of what we do and see in magazines, online or at industry shows. “Technical” and sexy new lighting, AV, even WOW costumes take center stage, and we are excited to learn about new items and new techniques.
But then we go home and say, “great stuff, but how do I make a living using this, selling THAT?” So I say, “Who talks about the MONEY?” Who addresses how to know if you’re pricing your events for profit? Who talks about how or whether to respond to an RFP? Where do the tools come from to protect your Work Product that you put all your energy and time into, only to have it taken and implemented by someone else? Can you actually get paid BEFORE you turn in a proposal? Where in the world do you find these answers?
This class will provide the answers to these questions and more. Think of it as moving from doing business as a Taxi to becoming an Uber; faster, more nimble, your own boss and understanding how much you’re making on each ride.
Taught by a 36-year industry professional and Founding Member of ISES, now ILEA, Cher L. Przelomski, CSEP, believes that our work is to be respected like any other industry; and that we don’t have to give it away. Choose what makes sense for you to be successful in your marketplace—using tools you’ll get at this session.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Cher L. Przelomski, CSEP
CEO, Planning Factory International; VP, Planning Factory Bermuda
Cher pioneered the Events Industry beginning 1982 and was a Founding Member of the (original) International Special Events Society (ISES). Cher served the industry on many Boards immediately after the formation of ISES, but most notably as VP of Education in 1990 and 1991; and under her direction the first Certification Program was designed and implemented. Today, the ILEA Certification is still the Hallmark of professionalism in the industry.
An early initiator of designing events to accomplish corporate goals, Cher was one of the first in the industry to recognize that events could be a strategic part of corporate marketing plans. Tapping into marketing budgets and positioning events as tools of marketing and economic development solidified PFI’s differentiation in the marketplace, and remains so today.
In 2008, Cher and a Bermudian partner opened Planning Factory Bermuda, now the premier Event Marketing and Management firm on island, serving client notables such as Bacardi, HSBC, Fairmont properties, Rosewood Tucker’s Point and their clients, Ernst & Young, Butterfield and many insurance and reinsurance clients island-wide.
Planning Factory International and Planning Factory Bermuda are award-winning companies for their creative, cutting edge strategic event designs. Cher’s companies’ commitment is to quality, service, fairness and education while maintaining strong client and vendor relationships.
