Elizabeth Nutting CSEP, President
Elizabeth Nutting graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Drama from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Upon graduation, Elizabeth was accepted into the prestigious workstudy program at The Banff Centre where she studied Theatre Craft, Stage Carpentry, and Stage Management. Later, she furthered her education at the Toronto School of Art; pursuing her dream to work as a set designer. After working in the theatre industry for 10 years, Elizabeth returned to school for a diploma in Event Management – Event and Exhibit Design at Seneca College. Working as an event producer has allowed Elizabeth to combine her natural inclination to manage with her desire to design. And while she sometimes misses her homegrown theatre roots, Elizabeth thrives on the fast paced large scale productions that corporate events are expected to create.
Kimberly Beaune CMP, CSEP, VP Finance – President-Elect
Kimberly is an accomplished industry professional with over 20 years’ experience in special events. Beginning her career in hotel sales, she quickly fell in love with the magic of event design and went on to explore that passion through senior roles in off-site catering and then as Senior Planner for a Toronto DMC. While building her foundation in events, she also began to create and produce independent theatre projects and design sets and costumes for her award winning theatre company Keystone Theatre.
As her worlds of events and theatre began to blend, a passion for telling stories through design and event animation grew, so Kimberly left the DMC world and joined one of Canada’s most prestigious décor and design firms. It was there that she honed her design aesthetic, leading the concept, creation and design on hundreds of unique projects from tradeshow booths to nationally televised awards galas.
Now as an entrepreneur running her own event production and design firm she is helping clients and organizations bring their event visions to life…with her own Creative Twist.
Dionne Bishop CSEP, Immediate Past-President
Events by Dionne
For over 15 years, Dionne Bishop has been involved with the Marketing and Events industry in various capacities. Beginning as a promotional coordinator for nightlife events, volunteering at city festivals and performing as a steelpan musician, Dionne was bitten by the special event industry very early on. Her formal education was completed at Humber College in Hotel & Restaurant Management, at St Clair College in Advertising – Business and finally at George Brown College in Event & Meeting Management – continuing education. These experiences lead Dionne to working at several non-profits, boutique agencies and running her own company, Events by Dionne for 4 years.
In 2008, Dionne accepted a position at Exhibition Place as Marketing Coordinator and since then has been responsible for communications, marketing, negotiating sponsorships, corporate branding and producing annual events for top tier clients. These events result in new business for the facilities – Allstream Centre & Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place.
Previously, Dionne sat on the BizBash Toronto Advisory Board and currently sits on the ILEA Toronto Board of Directors as the current President. On a personal level Dionne enjoys live music, traveling, health & wellness and is easily found reading personal development books, preferably on a beach in the Caribbean.
Sebastien David, VP Marketing & Communications – MARCOM
Co-owner of Senik Events, Sebastien discovered his passion for the event business in the late 80’s when he started a part-time job as a kid’s event animator/coordinator. While completing his Political science degree, he rapidly became a senior planner and started to extend to corporate events.
In 1996, Sebastien opened his first event producing company, he was 21. In 2002, he met Nicholas-Olivier and one year later, Senik Events was born. Senik Events is producing around 75 projects per year throughout Canada and the U.S. and has two offices, Montreal and Quebec City.
Jordan Benson, VP Membership
As an event production specialist and business owner, Jordan Benson, is reshaping the way Torontonians experience events. A strategic event innovator with a passion for technical design and production, Jordan is quickly becoming a leader in the staging, design and event production industry. Known for his resourcefulness, operational expertise, and technical knowledge, Jordan has carved a niche for himself and his company, EPiQVision, in Toronto’s growing luxury event market.
Drawing on his international experience, Jordan thrives on exceeding client expectations with new and exciting concepts and technology, produced on-time and within budget. Actively committed to community and volunteer initiatives, this year Jordan looks forward to developing a strategic mentorship program with newcomers to the event production industry.
Greg Bell, VP Sponsorship
The always irreverent Greg Bell has been working in the events business for more than 10 years. He has developed a quirky, conversational approach to business that has allowed him to examine the industry from an all-together different perspective. His belief in the work hard/play hard approach has helped him encourage and grow the team at Decor & More since taking on the position of Vice-President in 2014. When designing an event Greg utilizes his love of, and training in, film to create events that have an impertinent and playful perspective. It is his belief that good event design is about telling an Oscar worthy story. He has served as the VP of Sponsorship, Finance & currently is a Director of the Marketing portfolio.
